Calling upon his repair experiences, Bozo tried to design an instrument that would not suffer the problems typically associated with guitars such as warped tops and bowed necks.
This led to the birth of the Bell Western body shape which Bozo has used successfully since the late 60's.
The Bell Western is a sort of hybrid between a standard dreadnaught and a jumbo (the unusual bell shape is a combination of a D-28 upper bout and J-200 lower bout). The tops and backs are thick (1/8 inch, 3 mm) with heavy X braces that are never scalloped.

This is contrary to current thought on guitar body structure but nonetheless it works very well, providing a large sound with lots of overtones, plenty of bottom, and good balance. | |||||||||
