Le Tersce;
I don't know who it is on your sound file, but it's not Kottke. Plus, the timing is pretty bad!
Hope this helps.

Hello,
I think I am supposed to find Kotke specialists on this board, so..
If you have a minute to offet me, would you please listen to the following few notes http://perso.wanadoo.fr/loic.letersec/public/anonymous.mp3 .
It is a peace of music I had 30 years ago on a K7 and whose name and author I never knew !
It could be Kotke (or may be Koryel)
Please if you know something about it, let me know too (loic.letersec@free.fr)

At my first Leo Kottke concert -- in Norman, Oklahoma in the early 1980s -- someone shouted "You're miraculous, man!" at the conclusion of a number.
Kottke merely said, "Thanks" -- then added, "You're miraculous yourself."
An amazing person and performer, this Leo Kottke fellow!Paul Somerville

Drumbo & Leo 2001
Ring, ring doorbell ring,
Baby come on in;
I got Mel Blanc on the radio . . .
I first met Leo in 1991 and I have spoke with him many times. He still doesn't know me - but, that's okay - I know him well enough for both of us.Drumbo

If Leo's music were a car: It would be a classic model but with an Indy engine, as capable as ever before of lapping the field, bar none.
If Leo's music were a diamond: It's value has remained constant since it was an unpolished rock yet to be discovered, but its brilliance now reflects a craftsmanship that cannot and should not be put into words.
On another front....
Kansas is not where I want to be in a year; I'd be surprised if Toto is waiting for me there. Sorry about earlier comments.

Looking forward to seeing you at Hookaville! It's been nine years since I last saw you, at the Ordway Theater in St. Paul. (As a matter of fact, I'd seen you the two previous 'Sunday after Thanksgiving' concerts there.) You're a real gem, to say the least. Thanks.

Thank you and the originators of this site. I've been playing for 25 years (last 3 seriously) and have been hungering material to expand my musical horizons and repetoire. This is the site to continue one's growth towards accomplishment. One thing though, like all the masters....practice, practice. Thank you unofficial person. If you know of other sites like yours who pay hommage to the great ones please let me or all of us know. Thank you Darrell Rose

I had the priviledge of attending a Leo Kottke performance on the University of Texas campus in Austin in the mid-70's. It was not only magical but his sense of humor (along with his white tennies)made you feel like you were listening to a friend perform.And in fact we were!Thank you Leo for your genious and inspiration.Now, if I could only tune my 11 strings to the 12th one in tune I'd have it made. It would appear that I am one of the receipients of one of the last remaining copies of the (sadly) deleted video, "Home and Away".
I note that the video is a film record of a concert given in Toronto in 1988.
I'm surprised that there have, apparently, been no further projects to film Leo at work and play since that date. Or am I quite wrong in this belief? Information to the contrary would be very welcome,
with warm regards to all fellow fans ........ phil.Phil Angold

I've always enjoyed the Kottke style, finding it refreshing and reaching a different area of my emotions than "traditional" music. Wanda Jones

I've seen Leo a number of times, followed his career since the early days, learned almost all his songs and made a fair amount of money teaching his music to others. So I am in his debt. He is an American original. I met him once, about 7 years ago in San Diego, it was either right before or after his nervous breakdown, I wasnt sure. He was in reasonable shape considering. That was when he used to talk about his psychotherapy on stage. He does have a fascinating perception of life and all its idiosyncracies, as evidenced by his music and his stories. But in this context, he was hilariously funny as he recounted one story of a therapy session in which his usual shrink was sick and an associate was filling in for him. But as it turned out, through a bizarre sequence of events, too numerous to repeat, the associate didnt make it and Leo ended up in the shrink's office with another patient who thought Leo was the substitute shrink. It was hilarious, because the patient wanted to continue seeing Leo after that. The whole thing made Leo aware of the depressive neurotic hole he had fallen into, and shortly after that he was able to finish his own therapy. For those fans who have an intense curiosity about all things Leo, his shrink was a Jungian and no shock treatments were required.
